Caring For Your Jewelry

Warm, soapy water is best for cleaning off everyday contaminants. While using sterling silver cleaner is tempting, using too much of it, or leaving your pieces in it too long is not a good thing.

If you have grime or gunk on your jewelry, try using a soft toothbrush to remove any debris.

You can also use a polishing cloth to keep your ring shiny.

Production Times

In stock original mountain rings: between 5-10 business days to create.

Custom rings (single layer) currently take about 2 weeks from start to finish.

Solid gold rings: Between 2-3 weeks

Custom engagement rings, bands and gemstone jewelry take between 4-6 weeks. 

Shipping Times

Orders that ship via USPS First Class mail, can take 2-5 business days to get from me to you within the US after the 5-10 business day production time. Please not that the USPS is experiencing delays (STILL), and these times may vary.

International orders usually take between 2-3 weeks to arrive, after the production time.

Orders that ship via USPS Priority Mail usually arrive within 2-3 days. Please not that the USPS is experiencing delays (STILL), and these times may vary.

We can ship UPS or FedEx. Just ask!

Resizing

Resizes are $35 for rings without stones. Resizes are $60 for rings with stones. Please measure your finger BEFORE you place your order to avoid resizing! If your ring needs to be larger, it may need to be remade, as adding more metal creates more cuts and solder joints, making your ring prone to cracking there. 

Again, MEASURE YOUR FINGER BEFORE ORDERING!

Exchanges

We make every single piece as the order comes in. Your ring will be made just for you, so:

Catalog items: eligible for an even exchange if we are notified within 48 hours of item delivery.  Not eligible for refund.

Custom items: not eligible for exchange or refund.  Custom items are made specifically to meet your vision so we would be unable to resell.

Gifts: same rules as custom items.

Warranty

  • Our pieces carry a 1 year warranty covering defects in craftsmanship of the ring only.  This warranty does not include:
  • Bent or broken prongs
  • Scuffs, scratches, or dents
  • Bending or warping of the ring from pressure
  • Burnishing of matte finish over time
  • Wear and tear
  • Cracking or chipping of stones
  • Small imperfections in the metalwork, noticeable under a loop.  Our jewelry is handmade and may have a little “character” when magnified.  However, your jewelry will be eye clean and stunning.
  • Loss or theft of stones or ring.  You may want to consider an insurance policy from Jeweler’s Mutual or other company to protect your investment.

Custom Jewelry Terms & Conditions

Design Fee

I charge a $75 non-refundable design sketch fee for all custom orders (items not listed in our inventory), and includes up to 3-5 sketch variations for you to select from. Following approval of one design, I charge a $100 non-refundable CAD fee, which will be applied to the final cost of your jewelry. It includes CAD designs and up to two revisions of those designs, as well as the cost of stone sourcing for your design.

If does not include any additional modifications to CAD designs.

Deposit

All custom pieces designed or handmade by Lovely Baubles require an approval of an estimate given, and a 50% deposit. With this payment, the client agrees to let production of the custom piece begin. The remaining balance will be charged upon completion of the piece and approval from the client. Written approval of receipt and satisfaction will be required upon receiving the piece. Jewelry will be shipped after receiving the final balance.

For an order cancelation after production begins, the client agrees that they are responsible for any of the materials used in the piece, as well as the initial $100 design fee.

Returns

Custom-designed pieces are non-returnable.

Client Provided Stones

In order to work with your diamonds or gemstones, it’s recommended that you have a copy of the stone certification (GIA), a copy of the appraisal, and insurance policy covering the stone. Please note that an appraisal is not insurance. 

The client agrees that there is reasonable risk involved in removing stones from mountings and resetting stones. It is the responsibility of Lovely Baubles to assess any risk regarding your stone, and advise the client on any foreseeable issues before moving forward with stone resetting. By providing consent for Lovely Baubles to reset a pre-existing gemstone, the customer holds harmless Lovely Baubles against any stone damage due to stone flaws or existing stone cracks, chipping, flaws, or inclusions. 

If a client chooses to use their own stones and ships them directly to Lovely Baubles, the customer will select its own shipping carrier, negotiate rates, shipping terms, and remit payment directly to the shipping provider. The customer will be encouraged to purchase shipping insurance, and understands that Lovely Baubles will not purchase shipping insurance on the customer’s behalf. The customer assumes all liability associated with this shipment, and hereby holds harmless Lovely Baubles and all of their deemed agents against any claims for loss or damage. Any claims that need to be made for lost or damaged shipments will by the customer’s responsibility. 

Re do not re-melt old gold down to use in new pieces. Sometimes, old gold doesn’t play well with new gold. We can, however, send it in to our manufacturer partners to recycle your scrap. You’ll receive a credit back (minus the fees they charge) that you can use towards your new piece.
