Inspiration:
Kathy came to me looking for a custom ring of Pikes Peak. It’s the highest summit we have here in the southern Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. It’s only 12 miles west of Colorado Springs, and provides a stunning backdrop to the city. And while most prefer to get to the summit by car, or by the cog railway, but more adventurous visitors will take on the long hike the top. Fun fact: Pikes Peak inspired the song, “America the Beautiful,” written in 1893, by Katharine Lee Bates after she fell in love with the view from the top.
Design:
She knew she wanted a two-tone gold set, and preferred the stacking ring look. After looking through the photos she sent, along with some of my own, I settled on a simple design. I designed her top ring with palladium white gold, to represent the snow capped peak. And the bottom, thicker ring, represented the foothills below.
